A major crackdown has been carried out against terrorists in India’s neighboring enemy country Pakistan. Pakistani security forces on Sunday killed 11 suspected terrorists, including a commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in two operations in the troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Terrorists killed in Lakki Marwat district
These operations were conducted in the troubled Tirah Valley and Lakki Marwat district of Khyber district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. A group of terrorists was moving through Tirah Valley via Peer Mela when the security forces stopped them. In the firing that followed, 10 terrorists were killed while four others were injured.
Police and CTD conducted a joint operation
Sources said that the terrorists killed also included a commander who was leading the group. In another incident, police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a joint operation in Shagai area in Lakki Marwat district. One terrorist was killed during the firing.
Ammunition recovered from the slain terrorists
Ammunition has also been recovered from the slain terrorists. One of the deceased terrorists has been identified as Asif Ali, who was a close associate of notorious banned commander Inamullah alias Lamba. Inamullah was a high-profile terrorist who was allegedly involved in several bomb blasts.
