Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had vowed to end terrorism, Pakistan Army took major action against terrorists

Dera Ismail Khan: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had vowed to ‘eradicate terrorism’ from his country. Now the effect of Shahbaz’s resolve is also visible. Pakistani security forces have killed 11 terrorists by raiding a terrorist hideout in an area considered to be a Taliban stronghold in the troubled north-west region. Officials have given information about the action taken by the Pakistani security forces.

Pakistani army had received intelligence

The Pakistan Army said in a statement that this raid, based on intelligence, was carried out in response to a roadside bomb blast on Sunday, in which seven Pakistani army soldiers were killed in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. The army said in the statement that the operation is still going on to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area and the security forces are fully determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism in Pakistan.

Shahbaz Sharif’s tough stand

Seven soldiers, including a captain, were killed in a terrorist attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. On Sunday, terrorists attacked a convoy of security personnel going towards Sarband Post, Kachhi Kamar in Lakki Marwat district. After the terrorist attack, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “I am deeply saddened by the martyrdom of Pakistani army personnel, including a captain, in the terrorist attack in Lakki Marwat district.” He had said, “The sacrifice of our brave soldiers and civilians is a debt on us which we have to repay by eliminating terrorism from our country.”

No one took responsibility for the attack

No one has taken responsibility for Sunday’s attack, although the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP, is being blamed for it. The TTP is an affiliate of the Afghan Taliban. Pakistani officials often accuse Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers of sheltering TTP fighters, although Kabul repeatedly denies this charge
