Terrorist attacks keep happening in Pakistan’s troubled Balochistan province. Terrorists armed with modern weapons opened fire on several coal mines in Balochistan’s Duki district early Friday morning, killing at least 20 workers and injuring many others. However, no organization has yet received any information about the attacks.
Local officials told about the attack that 20 workers were killed and six others were injured in sudden terrorist attacks on several coal mines in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province on Friday morning. The condition of many of the injured is said to be critical.
Rocket and grenade attack on mine
Humayun Khan, police station house officer of the city located on the eastern side of Quetta city, said, “A group of armed men attacked several mines of Junaid Coal Company in Duki area using heavy weapons.” Humayun also told that they also fired rockets and grenades on the mines.
District political chief Haji Khairullah Nasir told the media about the incident that the incident took place in Duki district of Balochistan province, where unknown attackers targeted at least 10 coal mines with hand grenades, killing the workers working inside. Many workers have also been injured.
Many of the injured are in critical condition
He also said that the armed attackers set fire to the mines and machines before fleeing the scene. District police said that the attackers took over the mine. Then gathered some coal mine workers together and shot them too.
Police said that the workers injured in the attack and the bodies were taken to a nearby hospital, where the condition of many injured is said to be critical. He says that most of the victims were residents of different districts of Balochistan province. However, no group has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
