Pakistan: Terrorists attack and kill at least seven security personnel in North Waziristan district

Peshawar: At least seven security personnel have been killed and two injured in two separate terrorist attacks on security forces in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Officials have given information about this attack on Sunday. Local officials said the first attack took place on Saturday in Hassan Khel in North Waziristan district bordering Afghanistan. The terrorists targeted the bomb disposal unit and carried out the blast, in which five security personnel were killed and two others were injured. Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’, quoting an official, said that immediately after the blast, the terrorists started firing on the security forces.

Police started search operation
In another incident, terrorists attacked a security post in Seeman area of the same district on Saturday, killing two security personnel, local officials said. He said that the bodies of the security personnel and the injured were airlifted to Bannu airport. Immediately after the attacks, security forces cordoned off the areas and started a search operation.

Terrorists have attacked before also
Police said that before these two attacks, unidentified terrorists had also bombed a part of a private school located in Shewa in North Waziristan district on May 8. Police said that the terrorists first tortured the watchman and later blew up two rooms of the school. Similar attacks were carried out in May last year also. Terrorists had blown up two government girls’ schools in Mirali, but there was no report of any loss of life or property.
