Know about Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was founded in December 2007 in the northwestern areas of Pakistan. The main objective of this organization is to fight against the Pakistan government and implement Sharia law in the country. TTP has its roots in the Taliban movement of Afghanistan, but this organization has been active in Pakistan independently. It was founded by Baitullah Mehsud, an influential leader of South Waziristan. The organization is a coalition of several small and big factions, many of which have ideological and strategic ties with al Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban.

What did TTP do

In 2009, TTP captured Pakistan’s Swat Valley, which was later evacuated by the Pakistan Army through Operation “Rah-e-Raast”. The attack by TTP on an Army Public School in Peshawar in 2014 was extremely horrific, killing more than 140 students and teachers. After 2020, TTP has reunited several scattered factions. The organization has increased attacks, especially in the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan of Pakistan. (Language)
