Preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections have also started in Jammu and Kashmir, keeping this in mind, all the security agencies working in the state have been asked to start preparing for this election.

Police and agencies are focusing their entire attention on creating a safe, peaceful and confident environment for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the state, so that more and more people can come to vote. According to information received from sources, Jammu and Kashmir Division IG has been asked to obtain information related to the 2019 elections. In this, it has been asked to give information about the polling centers and their classification based on the constituency including the district.

The IG has also been asked to provide information about phase-wise deployment of paramilitary forces in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, including constituencies in which terrorist incidents or law and order disturbances were witnessed. Besides, information has also been sought about terrorist attacks and disturbances in law and order that took place on the day of voting at the district level in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Keep a close eye on alcohol use

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, information has also been asked to be given about such constituencies, where it is difficult to reach and helicopters are used for transportation. Apart from this, information has also been asked to be given regarding polling duty, security of strong rooms, use and number of total personnel working for law and order in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Officials have also been instructed to keep a close watch and be cautious on the use of cash or liquor on the election day.
