Patna: On the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, the Bihar government has made arrangements for women and girl students to travel for free on 9th and 10th August in all the buses of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation.

Patna: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Bihar government has given a special gift to women and girl students. Women and girl students will be able to travel for free on 9th and 10th August in all the buses of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation. This facility will be applicable from 6 am on 9th August i.e. Saturday till late night of 10th August i.e. Sunday. Under this initiative, women of all age groups, whether they are girl students, working women or others, will be able to travel in the buses of the corporation without ticket. This facility will be applicable on all types of buses of the corporation i.e. pink bus, ordinary bus and deluxe bus.

Sisters will be able to meet their brothers without financial burden

Let us tell you that pink, ordinary and deluxe buses run on various routes from 6 regional offices like Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Purnia. This step of the Bihar government is a commendable effort towards making the festival of Raksha Bandhan more special. With this facility, women and girl students will be able to travel easily to meet their brothers and family members without any financial burden. Bihar State Road Transport Corporation has requested all the passengers to take advantage of this facility and celebrate the festival with laughter and happiness. This announcement of the Bihar government has brought a wave of happiness among women across the state.

Many other states have announced free bus travel

Let us tell you that on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, many states of India have announced free bus travel for women, so that they can easily travel to meet their brothers and family. In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has provided free travel facility for women in UPSRTC and city buses from 6 am on August 8 to midnight on August 10, in which additional buses will be deployed. In Haryana, women and children up to 15 years of age will be able to travel free within the state and in buses on Delhi-Chandigarh route from 12 noon on August 8 to midnight on August 9. For the first time in Rajasthan, women will get free travel facility in State Transport Corporation buses on 9th and 10th August.

Free bus travel also in Uttarakhand, Karnataka and Punjab

Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula (Tricity) will have free travel facility in local AC and non-AC buses on 9th August, but this will not be applicable on long route buses. Traditionally, women and children in Uttarakhand will be able to travel free in government buses on 9th August. Free bus travel facility is already available in Karnataka, Punjab and Delhi, which will also be applicable on Rakshabandhan. In Madhya Pradesh, along with free bus travel in Bhopal and Indore on 9th August, more than 28 lakh women will get Rakshabandhan bonus of Rs 1500 and Rs 250 under Ladli Bahana Yojana, as well as Rs 43.90 crore will be distributed for gas cylinders.
