On World Tourism Day, a seminar was organized in Patna, the capital, to promote tourism in Bihar. The one-day seminar delved deeply into the tourism sector. The purpose of this program was to give Bihar a special identity in the tourism sector. On this special occasion, Bihar Tourism presented a rose flower to each domestic and foreign tourist arriving at Patna Airport.

World Tourism Day is celebrated worldwide on September 27th every year. On this occasion, the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation organized a grand seminar at the Sikh Heritage Building, Daroga Prasad Rai Path, in Patna. The program aimed to give the state’s tourism sector a new identity and present it globally. World Tourism Day has been celebrated since 1980.

Discussion on Tourism Awareness
On this occasion, Nand Kishore, Managing Director of the Bihar Tourism Corporation, stated that the government is committed to preserving all historical sites in Bihar and developing modern tourism infrastructure. The seminar also featured a discussion with stakeholders on the theme of “Tourism and Sustainable Change.” During this discussion, hoteliers, industry tour operators, and tourism associations discussed ways to increase tourism awareness and promote small tourism industries, as well as to foster tourism awareness in society and culture.

On this occasion, the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation offered a 10% discount on the fixed tariff for one day to tourists visiting its self-operated assets, including pre-paid taxi counters, Patna Airport, MV Kautilya Vihar, Aerial Ropeway, Aerial Ropeway Rajgir, Mandar Banka, Prakash Kunj, and hotels, on the occasion of World Tourism Day. Furthermore, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited welcomed domestic and foreign tourists arriving at Patna Airport with a rose.

Emphasis on tourism facilities and promotion
Senior officials of the Tourism Development Corporation, tourism experts, academics, and researchers participated in the seminar. Speakers discussed in detail the importance of Bihar’s rich cultural heritage, historical sites, religious tourist centers, and folk art. They emphasized that Bihar’s identity is not only rooted in historical glory, but also in spiritual and cultural diversity. To make Nalanda, Rajgir, Vaishali, Patna Sahib, Bodhgaya, and Champaran, as well as other tourist destinations, internationally, there is a need to emphasize modern tourism facilities and promotion.

The seminar in Patna was attended by Ramlal Khaitan, President of the Bihar Industries Association, Narendra Kumar (Senior Member of the National Committee and Past Chairman of the Unit of Organization – Confederation of Indian Industry, CII), Siddharth Jain (General Manager, Hotel Taj City Center, Patna), Atish Kumar (General Manager, Hotel Resort), Prakash Chandra (Secretary, Tourism Association of Bihar), Shubham Kumar (Founder, Bing Halper Foundation and Brand Ambassador, Namami Gange BUDCO, Patna), and others.
