PM Modi likely to lay the foundation stone of DU’s new college named after Veer Savarkar tomorrow, the estimated cost of the college is going to be Rs 140 crore.

A new college is likely to be established in the country’s capital Delhi soon in the name of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. It is expected that on January 3, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi himself can lay the foundation stone of this college. Let us tell you that two new campuses of Delhi University (DU) are going to be built in East and West Delhi. Along with this, there is also a possibility of laying the foundation stone of a college which can be named after Veer Savarkar.

Estimated cost of Rs 140 crore

Information about the new college named after Veer Savarkar has been given by Delhi University sources. Let us tell you that earlier in the year 2021, the Executive Council of Delhi University had approved the construction of Savarkar College in Najafgarh at an estimated cost of Rs 140 crore. DU sources have said that PM Modi has been invited to lay the foundation stone of the college. Confirmation is awaited from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in this regard.

Where will the eastern and western campuses be built?

Delhi University sources have said that the eastern campus of the university is proposed to be established in Surajmal Vihar and it will cost an estimated Rs 373 crore. At the same time, the western campus of the university will be established in Dwarka.

Proposals for these names also

The Executive Council of Delhi University also approved the proposal of a college named after late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj in the year 2021. Apart from this, the DU Vice Chancellor was given the right to select names for two proposed colleges. The list of these names included names like Swami Vivekananda, Vallabhbhai Patel, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Savitribai Phule.
