PM Modi today addressed the nation in the 126th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and appealed to the people to buy indigenous products during the festivals due to the implementation of the new GST slab.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday through the 126th episode of his radio program “Mann Ki Baat.” During the address, he praised the efforts to bring global recognition to the country’s cultural heritage, the adoption of indigenous products, and the valor of the Navy along with the power of women.

Efforts to Include Chhath Puja in the UNESCO List
PM Modi spoke about India’s commitment to elevate its cultural heritage to the global stage. The PM expressed happiness that the Indian government is making efforts to include Chhath Mahaparva in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. He said, “When Chhath Puja is included in the UNESCO List, people in every corner of the world will be able to experience its grandeur and divinity.”

He said that festivals keep our culture alive. Chhath Puja, a sacred festival dedicated to the Sun God, is now becoming not only a national festival but also a global festival. The PM also recalled that similar efforts by the government recently led to the Durga Puja in Kolkata being included in the UNESCO List.

Deep Connection with Lata Didi
PM Modi paid a heartfelt tribute to the Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar, on her birth anniversary and called for the adoption of “Swadeshi.” The PM said that Lata Didi’s songs are deeply moving and deeply moving. Her patriotic songs are inspiring. He recalled that Lata Didi never forgot to send him a Rakhi every year.

“Vocal for Local” on Gandhi Jayanti
Referring to October 2nd, Gandhi Jayanti, PM Modi emphasized the importance of Swadeshi and Khadi. He said that Khadi’s appeal had faded after independence, but its sales have increased significantly in the last 11 years. The PM highlighted how Indian entrepreneurs and women are creating new success stories by combining tradition and innovation. The PM introduced two brave women naval officers, Lieutenant Commander Dilna and Lieutenant Commander Roopa, who displayed indomitable courage and determination during the ‘Navika Sagar Parikrama’.

Success Stories Revealed
PM Modi said, “Ashok Jagadeesan and Prem Selvaraj left their corporate jobs to make yoga mats from grass and banana fibers and dye clothes with herbal dyes. This provided employment to 200 families.” He added that Ashish Satyavrat Sahu has brought tribal weaving and textiles to the global stage through the ‘Johargram’ brand. Sweety Kumari from Madhubani has made Mithila painting a means of livelihood for women. With her, more than 500 rural women are on the path to self-reliance.
