Prisoners attacked jail personnel in Poonch district jail of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. One prisoner has been injured in this incident. A large number of police and SOG have been sent to the jail to control the situation. The injured prisoner is undergoing treatment at Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital.
According to the information, some prisoners started fighting with the cooks in the district jail. When the jail security personnel reached to intervene, the prisoners also attacked the jail personnel. On this, other prisoners also clashed with the jail personnel. Meanwhile, police and SOG were called to the jail to control the situation.
Officers reached Poonch District Jail
During this, a prisoner named Nazir Ahmed, a resident of Kashmir, who was in jail on charges of illegal activity, got injured. He has been admitted to Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital for treatment. He has sustained injuries on his hand. After this incident, senior officials of the district police have also reached the jail.
Major accident in Udhampur district
Meanwhile, in Udhampur district of Jammu region, a car involved in the Amarnath Yatra convoy collided with a divider. One person was injured in this accident. Police say that 4 people in the car are safe. A person named Shashikant was driving the car involved in the Amarnath Yatra convoy.
Police said, this car collided with a divider on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Narsu of Chinani tehsil. The injured person in this accident has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The 4 people in the car have not suffered any injuries. Officials say that another batch of more than 7 thousand 500 pilgrims has left from Jammu in the morning for both the base camps of Amarnath temple located at an altitude of 3 thousand 880 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas.
