Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of three semiconductor projects worth about Rs 1.25 lakh crore today i.e. on Wednesday. These plants will be set up in Dholera, Sanand of Gujarat and Morigaon of Assam. PM Modi will lay its foundation stone in the program ‘India’s Teched: Chips for Developed India’. PM Modi will participate in this program virtually.
During this time the Prime Minister will also address the youth across the country. Let us tell you that last month the Cabinet had approved the opening of three semiconductor plants in India. This will provide about 80 thousand employment. Tata Group company Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) will open its semiconductor fabrication plant in Gujarat. Rs 91,000 crore will be invested in this.
Plants will open in Gujarat and Assam
At the same time, CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited (CG Power) will open its semiconductor plant in Sanand, Gujarat. Its total investment will be around Rs 7,500 crore. Apart from this, the cost of the plant which will be established in Morigaon, Assam is Rs 27,000 crore. These 3 semiconductor plants to be built in India are likely to provide a large number of jobs.
80 thousand people will get employment
These three units will provide employment to thousands of youth in the semiconductor industry and will also promote employment generation in related sectors like electronics, telecommunication etc. The government says that a total of 80 thousand people will get jobs from these three plants. 20,000 direct jobs and about 60,000 indirect jobs will be created for advanced technology.
‘We will have an echo in the semiconductor world’
