Marseille: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron traveled in the same plane from Paris to Marseille. On Wednesday, calling for increasing trade and investment relations between the two countries, the two expressed commitment to further deepen their participation in the Indo-Pacific region and various global forums and initiatives. After their comprehensive talks, the two leaders also underlined their commitment to take concrete action to ensure that the global AI sector delivers beneficial social, economic, environmental results in public interest.
A joint statement issued after the meeting of the two leaders here said that the talks covered the entire dimensions of bilateral relations as well as major global and regional issues. The two leaders emphasized the urgent need to reform the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and agreed to closely coordinate on various global issues, including Security Council matters.
India-France relations reach new heights of relations
PM Modi and Macron said that relations between India and France have reached new heights. French President Macron reiterated France’s firm support for India’s permanent membership in the UNSC. The two leaders reiterated their strong commitment to the India-France strategic partnership and noted that it has evolved into a multifaceted relationship over the past 25 years. Foreign Secretary Misri said in Marseille – Modi and Macron exchanged views on geopolitical developments in Europe, West Asia and the Indo-Pacific region.
