Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the historic budget of the Uttarakhand government, saying that it is “a big step towards development, self-reliance and inclusive economy.”

Uttarakhand News: Uttarakhand Finance Minister Dr. Premchand Aggarwal presented a budget of more than Rs 1 lakh crore for the first time in the history of the state. This historic budget was specially praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was termed as “a step towards new heights of New India”. Budget 2025-26 has given priority to economic development, infrastructure, women empowerment, education, health and tourism.

The total provision of Budget 2025-26 is ₹ 1,01,175.33 crore, which shows a significant increase over last year. The budget has given priority to balancing revenue and capital expenditure as well as long-term investment.

Balance of revenue and expenditure

  • Total revenue receipts: ₹62,540.54 crore
  • Tax revenue: ₹39,917.74 crore
  • Non-tax revenue: ₹22,622.80 crore
  • Capital receipts: ₹38,494.21 crore
  • Total expenditure: ₹1,01,175.33 crore
  • Fiscal deficit: ₹12,604.92 crore

Budgetary allocations for key sectors

  • Women empowerment and welfare (₹16,961.32 crore)
  • Under women welfare schemes, provision has been made for various schemes with an increase of 16.66% this year.

Nanda Gauri Yojana: ₹157.84 crore

  • Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: ₹21.74 crore
  • Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Kit Yojana: ₹22.62 crore
  • Mukhyamantri Mahila Poshan Yojana: ₹13.96 crore
  • Mukhyamantri Mahila Sustainable Livelihoods Yojana: ₹2.00 crore
  • Rural Development and Agriculture (₹28,560.20 crore)
  • Agriculture and Research: ₹1,25,99.46 crore
  • Irrigation and Flood Control: ₹1,89,97.39 crore
  • Rural Development: ₹2,85,60.20 crore
  • Infrastructure and Connectivity (₹37,074.20 crore)
  • Road Construction and Improvement: ₹22,073.42 crore
  • Public Transport: ₹3,96.94 crore
  • Energy sector: ₹16,597.14 crore

Education and health

  • Education: ₹11,90,91.98 crore
  • Medical and family welfare: ₹4,29,29.53 crore
  • Industry and tourism (₹9,37,54.90 crore)
  • To promote tourism: ₹4,78.76 crore
  • For the development of industrial sector: ₹51,50.79 crore

The Uttarakhand government is investing heavily in infrastructure to make the Chardham Yatra more smooth. This time a provision of ₹4,78.76 crore has been made in the budget for the development of tourism and religious places. PM Modi praised It is known that in this budget, the outline of the budget has been prepared on the basis of Narendra Modi’s name Namo Namo (N- innovation A- self-reliant M- great heritage O-vigorous human resources). This innovation of Uttarakhand Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal has been highly appreciated in the PMO.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised this historic budget of the Uttarakhand government and said that it is “a big step towards development, self-reliance and inclusive economy.” He specifically described the schemes of Uttarakhand as “balanced and visionary”.

This budget of Uttarakhand is development oriented, keeping in mind balanced financial management and future economic prospects. It will not only strengthen the economic infrastructure of the state, but will also bring the benefits of inclusive development to every section of the society.
