Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Bihar today. Earlier in the day, he will inaugurate the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal. After this, he will leave for Bihar. He will reach Chunapur Airport in Purnia at 1.25 pm by a special plane. From here, he will reach Bhagalpur at 2.10 pm by helicopter. Here, by participating in the Kisan Samman program, he will transfer about Rs 23,000 crore to the accounts of about 10 crore beneficiaries. At 4.17 pm, he will leave for Delhi from Purnia Airport.
The political temperature in Bihar has increased before PM Modi’s visit. To take stock of the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan reached the state a day earlier and interacted with the farmers cultivating Makhana, so that a plan can be made for the much-discussed “Makhana Board” announced in the recent budget.
9.80 crore farmers will get Rs 22,700 crore
Speaking to reporters on the occasion of ‘Makhana Panchayat’ organized in Darbhanga, Chauhan said, “We have decided that Makhana Board should be formed in consultation with the farmers, as farmers are the real stakeholders. We are not in favor of any order issued from Krishi Bhawan in Delhi.” He also said that the Prime Minister’s program on Monday “will have an impact on the whole country as 9.80 crore farmers will get Rs 22,700 crore as another installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.”
PM likes to be among the people – Shivraj
Shivraj rejected the allegation of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav that the Prime Minister has chosen Bihar for the ceremony keeping in mind the assembly elections to be held in a few months. He said, “Tejashwi should know that Modi went to Madhya Pradesh today, where there is no election. Tomorrow after Bihar, he is scheduled to go to Assam, where there is no election. Our Prime Minister prefers to live among the people rather than enjoying the comforts of his bungalow.”
Strict arrangements for PM’s security
Strict arrangements have been made in Bhagalpur for the security of the Prime Minister. District Magistrate Kundan Kumar and SP Kartikeya K Sharma are looking after the entire security arrangements. Before the transit visit of the PM, Bihar Government Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena and DGP Vinay Kumar have also reached Purnia. Necessary instructions are being given to ensure that the transport system also runs smoothly along with the security arrangements.
