Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Laos on a two-day visit. PM Modi has specially thanked the organizers for attending the 21st ASEAN-India Summit. He said that this visit was very useful in line with India’s commitment to maintain strong relations with ASEAN countries. He said that we will continue to work together towards peace, prosperity and sustainable development in the region. Prime Minister Modi presented a Patola scarf of Patan to the President of Laos. Patola means silk cloth. It is a part of the ancient tradition of North Gujarat. Its practice is found in the 11th century. The rich history of this art is centuries old. It is believed that it originated in Surat. At the same time, the PM presented a unique artwork based on the Radha-Krishna theme to the wife of the President of Laos.

Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi presented a table prepared with handmade traditional craftsmanship along with decorative utensils, the identity of Ladakh culture, to the Prime Minister of Lao PDR.
