A shocking incident has come to light from Junnar area of Pune district of Maharashtra. The bodies of a 40-year-old revenue officer and a 17-year-old teenager have been recovered from under a cliff here. Police suspected it to be a case of suicide.
Revenue officer identified
According to the police, the deceased revenue officer has been identified as Ramchandra Sahebrao Pardhi, who was posted as Talathi (revenue officer) in Shrigonda in Ahilyanagar district of Maharashtra. The teenager has been identified as Rupali Kuthal, a resident of Junnar tehsil.
Slippers also found at the spot
Initial investigation revealed that it is suspected that both of them had jumped from a cliff in Ambe-Hatwij. The matter came to light when villagers saw Pardhi’s car parked at the top of the cliff for three-four days. They felt something wrong and a pair of slippers was also found at the spot.
Body found at a depth of 1200 feet
After this, a search operation was launched in the valley, during which the bodies of both were found at a depth of about 1200 feet. The rescue team took out the bodies from the spot. The officer said that the girl’s family had lodged a complaint of her kidnapping at the Junnar police station about 10 days ago.
What is the reason behind the death?
At the same time, Ramchandra Pardhi was also missing for the last few days and his wife had lodged a missing complaint at the Topkhana police station in Ahilyanagar district. Police said that no suicide note has been recovered from the spot. Further investigation of the case is going on to find out the reasons and circumstances behind the death.
