District President of Mahila Sabha Manjit Kaur was killed in a dispute over a plot in village Gamiwala of Mansa district of Punjab. The name of the deceased woman was Manjit Kaur, she was a state council member of the Communist Party of India. It is being told that Kaur was getting work done in her plot on Saturday (March 8) morning. During this time, some people living in her neighborhood attacked her.
According to the information, the accused attacked Manjit Kaur with sticks and rods and brutally beat her. During this, Khoi did not come to her rescue. After which she died. At the same time, after carrying out the incident, the accused fled from the spot. This incident, which happened in broad daylight, created a stir. Meanwhile, as soon as the information about the case was received, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody.
There was a dispute over land
Manjit was fighting for the rights of women for a long time and used to work to get them justice. It is being told that there was a long-running dispute between Manjit and the other party over a piece of land. A few days ago, the issue of the plot was settled in favour of Manjit Kaur with the efforts of joint organizations, however, due to the refusal of the other party to agree to the agreement, this incident of murder was carried out.
Case registered against 5 people
The police have registered a case against five people on the basis of the statement of Veerpal Kaur, daughter of the deceased. Jagdev Singh, in-charge of Boha police station, said that a case has been registered against five people including Sandeep Singh, Kaka Singh, Bhago Devi Laxman Singh and an unknown woman. He said that police action is going on to arrest the accused and soon all the people will be arrested.
CPI workers raised slogans against the government
On the other hand, regarding this murder, CPI workers staged a dharna in Civil Hospital Budhlada demanding the arrest of the murderers and raised slogans against the government. CPI District Secretary Comrade Krishna Chauhan said that their dharna will continue until the police arrest all the accused.
