Gulab Chand Kataria: Due to the sensitivity and prompt action of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, a youth doing bonded labour was freed. A youth from Narayanbagh area of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand was doing bonded labour for 15 years. This youth was taking care of animals in a cowshed in Deenwal village of Tarn Taran district of Punjab.
The information about this case reached Governor Kataria through a video broadcast on social media by Lok Sabha MP and BJP chief spokesperson Anil Baluni, in which the painful condition of the youth was brought to light. After this, the Governor took initiative in this direction and issued instructions to the officials in this regard and the youth was freed from the clutches of bonded labour.
The Governor had directed the DGP to take action
Taking the matter very seriously, Governor Kataria directed Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav to take necessary action immediately. The DGP acted swiftly and activated the police of Tarn Taran district, which within a few hours traced the youth and freed him from the clutches of the Gaushala operator.
Case registered against the Gaushala operator
The process of sending the rescued youth to his native village Narayanbagh (Chamoli) was started the same night. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the Gaushala operator in Gobindwal Sahib police station and legal proceedings have been initiated.
Anil Baluni expressed gratitude to the Governor and DGP
Anil Baluni, who drew attention to this inhuman situation through the video, expressed gratitude to Governor Kataria and DGP Yadav for showing promptness in helping the youth. He said that such humanitarian efforts assure justice to the victims and sensitive leadership to the society.
