Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by seven wickets in their last league match of IPL 2025. With this, they have reached the top of the points table with 19 points.

Punjab Kings got a target of 185 runs to win. Punjab scored 187 for the loss of three wickets in 18.3 overs and won the match by seven wickets. Captain Shreyas Iyer gave the team victory by hitting a six.

Josh Inglis played a big role in Punjab’s victory. Inglis scored 73 runs in 42 balls with the help of three sixes and nine fours to give Punjab victory.

Priyansh Arya, who came to open the innings, also played an innings of 62 runs in 35 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes. There was a partnership of 109 runs for the second wicket between Priyansh and Inglis.

Captain Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 26 off 16 balls and Nehal Vadhera on two runs. Prabhsimran Singh was dismissed after scoring 13 runs.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, Mumbai Indians scored 184 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs with the help of Suryakumar Yadav’s 57 runs.

For Punjab, Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen and V. Vijay Kumar took two wickets each while Harpreet Brar took one wicket. After this victory over Mumbai, Punjab Kings have a total of 19 points with nine wins in 14 matches and one point from a tied match and the team has reached the top of the points table.

After this defeat, it has also been decided that Mumbai Indians will now remain at number four. Mumbai Indians, who had a very poor start to the season, have secured fourth place with 16 points with eight wins in 14 matches of the league.

The last league match of IPL 2025 will be played between RCB and LSG on Tuesday at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. RCB has reached the playoffs while LSG is out.
