Punjab: Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said in a program organized at ‘Lovely Professional University’ that her life was not easy, yet her goal and courage always inspired her to move forward.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh: In a program organized in Phagwara, Punjab, Indian Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh inspired the students and encouraged them to move forward fearlessly towards their goals. Vyomika Singh said in a program organized at ‘Lovely Professional University’ (LPU) on Saturday that her life has not been easy, yet goals and courage always inspired her to move forward.

According to a statement issued by LPU, Singh said, “Whatever you want to become, be it a painter, actor or pilot, take your life decisions yourself, do not let anyone else decide your path.”

Last month, in the presence of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Colonel Sophia Qureshi, Wing Commander Singh informed the country about India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’. Emphasizing the importance of education, he said that it is “the wealth that gives you the power to stay strong and lead.”

Let us tell you that Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, an excellent helicopter pilot in the Indian Air Force, led the media briefing on Operation Sindoor after India’s targeted attacks in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh first joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC). She is the first person from her family to join the armed forces.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh has been commissioned as a helicopter pilot in the Indian Air Force. Got permanent commission in the flying branch in the year 2019. She has over 2,500 hours of flying experience. She has operated helicopters like Chetak and Cheetah in some of the most difficult areas including Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast. She played an important role in many rescue operations.

One of the major operations conducted under her leadership was in Arunachal Pradesh in November 2020. These operations were carried out in high altitudes, difficult weather and remote locations where air support is vital to save lives. In 2021, she joined an all-women mountaineering expedition of the three services to Mount Manirang, which is located at an altitude of 21,650 feet. The effort was recognised by senior defence officials, including the Air Force Chief.
