Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi told a Pune court on August 13 that his life is in danger. He gave the reasoning behind this and said that his life is in danger due to recent political conflicts and family relations of complainant Satyaki Savarkar. Rahul Gandhi has demanded preventive protection in this regard. Along with this, Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the MP, MLA court that the court should take cognizance of the serious apprehensions regarding his security and fair action during the hearing of the defamation case.

Rahul Gandhi’s life is in danger
Rahul Gandhi said in the MP, MLA court that his life is in danger because complainant Satyaki Savarkar has described himself as a descendant of Nathuram Godse. Rahul Gandhi also said during this time that the history of his lineage is associated with people with violent ideology, due to which he fears being harmed or implicated in a false case. For this reason, Rahul Gandhi has demanded protection from the court, so that there is no threat to his life and the fairness of the case is protected. Referring to his recent statements, the Congress leader said that he has faced the displeasure and threats of BJP leaders.

However, a Congress party leader released Milind Pawar’s press release on his social media handle and wrote, ‘Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer had cited threat to his life by filing a written statement in the court without talking to him or taking his consent. Rahul ji strongly disagrees with this. Therefore, tomorrow his lawyer will withdraw this written statement from the court.

What is Veer Savarkar defamation case
Actually Rahul Gandhi had gone to London in March 2023. During this, Rahul Gandhi mentioned an incident while speaking about Veer Savarkar. Regarding the statement given by Rahul Gandhi, Satyaki Savarkar says that Rahul Gandhi has lied and this is defamation. According to the complaint, Rahul Gandhi had told the people present there that Savarkar had written in a book that he and his five-six friends were beating a Muslim man and Savarkar was happy about this. In the court, Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer Milind Pawar said that Satyaki Savarkar is related to Savarkar and Godse’s family. He can misuse the influence of his family.
