Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar, in an inflammatory remark, alleged that Mughal emperor Akbar was not the great but a “tyrant and rapist”. Asked about the changes in the school curriculum, Dilawar told reporters in Balotra on Sunday that Akbar used to get girls from the markets and rape them. On making ‘Surya Namaskar’ mandatory in the schools of Rajasthan, he said that it is being implemented gradually.
Controversy in Rajasthan regarding Surya Namaskar
He said, “It has started.” Within a few days, ‘Surya Namaskar’ will become regular in all schools. When asked about the transfers of teachers, Dilawar said that examinations are going on at this time and in such a situation it would not be appropriate to transfer teachers. “We will start the transfer process after the exams are over,” he said. Let us tell you that on February 15, an order was issued to conduct Surya Namaskar in all the government schools of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan executive of Jamiat Ulema Hind had also held a meeting on this issue.
Jamiat had held a meeting
A resolution was passed by Jamiat regarding Surya Namaskar. Through the resolution, the order to make students, parents and others do collective Surya Namaskar in all the schools on the occasion of Surya Saptami was condemned. This was described as open interference in religious matters. The proposal also said that this is a violation of the Constitution. In this regard, Jamiat said that in the majority Hindu society, Sun is worshiped as God. The verses spoken in this practice and the activities like Pranamasana, Ashtanga Namaskar etc. are a form of worship. In the religion of Islam, worship of anyone other than Allah is not acceptable.
