Bhankrota: Rajasthan High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the LPG tanker blast incident near Bhankrota on Jaipur-Ajmer Highway. Along with this, the court has sought a reply from the Ministry of Disaster Management, Petroleum Secretary and Chief Secretary, among others. At the same time, the court has asked to list the case as a public interest litigation before the concerned division bench on January 10 for hearing.
The court has also sought information about the steps taken by the central and state government on this issue. A single bench of Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand gave this order. The court told the central and state government to investigate against the officers guilty of this accident and take action against those who were negligent in it. At the same time, such a large number of flammable chemicals and gas warehouses etc. should be removed from the densely populated area.
Bridges and overbridges should be constructed within the stipulated time
The court told the officials that steps should be taken to complete the construction work of bridges and overbridges within the stipulated time. Also, a policy should be made to provide a separate route for the transportation of flammable gas and chemicals. The court told the concerned departments of the central and state government to provide adequate compensation to the deceased, injured and the family members of all the victims whose vehicles and property have been damaged in this fire.
The court asked, what is being done to identify black spots and dangerous U-turns and to install warning boards for these dangers on the highway, so that human life and all living beings can be protected. The court said, if the government had taken proper precautions for road safety, such an incident could have been avoided. Every year thousands of people die while crossing roads, U-turns and black spots.
14 people died in the accident
Along with this, the court has also asked the High Court Bar Association Jaipur President Mahendra Shandilya, State Advocate General Rajendra Prasad, ASG RD Rastogi and Advocate Sandeep Pathak to cooperate in the case. Let us tell you that on 20th December, a massive explosion took place after a fierce collision between an LPG tanker and a truck on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway at around 6 am.
After this explosion, the flames of fire spread far and wide, which engulfed about 40 vehicles passing by. 14 people died in this accident. Pictures of the injured people in the accident also surfaced, in which people with more than 50 percent burns were being taken for treatment.
