New Delhi: In Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, lawyers are creating a huge ruckus and getting the shops and other business establishments of the city closed. In fact, a lawyer was murdered in the district recently, hundreds of lawyers have come out on the streets in protest against this. They have also announced Ajmer-Pushkar bandh in protest against the murder. Many such pictures have surfaced in which lawyers are seen forcibly closing the shops. During this, the lawyers have also vandalized shops and hotels etc. Let us tell you that the lawyers had expressed their anger on Friday as well.
Lawyers warned shopkeepers
Let us tell you that hundreds of lawyers who came out on the streets of Ajmer have warned the shopkeepers to cooperate in the bandh or face the consequences. The lawyers have announced that all shopkeepers should keep their shops closed today or else if any incident occurs, they will not be responsible. Let us tell you that on Friday also, lawyers had demonstrated in Ajmer in protest against the murder of an advocate in Pushkar and created a ruckus in the court. The angry lawyers had forcibly thrown out people and policemen from the Ajmer court premises. They also closed the shops inside the court premises.
The lawyers have made these demands from the administration
The Ajmer Bar Association has demanded a government job for a member of the victim’s family, compensation and arrest of all the accused. Advocate Yogendra Ojha said, ‘The police have not been able to arrest all the accused so far. The protest will continue until justice is served.’ Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramchandra Chaudhary said, ‘Earlier a case of attempt to murder and assault was registered in this case. Now after the death of the lawyer, the case has been converted into a murder section. 10 accused have been arrested and 3 vehicles (jeep, DJ, pickup) have been seized.’
The lawyer was beaten with sticks
Let us tell you that on March 2 in Pushkar, some people attacked senior lawyer Purushottam Jakhotiya of Ajmer court. The injured lawyer was admitted to JLN Hospital in Ajmer, where he died during treatment on Friday morning. According to the police, the incident took place on 2 March on Budha Pushkar Road. Near a liquor shop, 8-10 youths were dancing on the road by playing a loud DJ in a car. Lawyer Purushottam Jakhetia, who lives in the neighbourhood, had opposed this and asked them to stop the DJ. On this, the miscreants beat him badly with sticks.
