Jodhpur: Bikaner-Jodhpur Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Dr Arun Kumar has been sacked. Governor Haribhau Bagde has issued the order of dismissal. Serious complaints had surfaced against Dr Arun Kumar, after which strict action has been taken against him. The removal of the Vice Chancellor of a university is a serious and big matter, which is also being discussed everywhere.
It was revealed in the investigation that Dr Arun Kumar deliberately delayed the implementation of the provisions and misused his powers. After this, instructions have been issued to remove him with immediate effect.
How can the Vice Chancellor of a university be dismissed?
If serious allegations such as corruption, financial irregularities, misconduct, or administrative negligence are leveled against a Vice Chancellor, he may be removed after an inquiry is conducted as per rules. Complaints can be made in writing by students, employees, or other stakeholders to the university administration, the state government, or the Governor (who is the Chancellor of the university) and action may be taken against the Vice Chancellor.
On receipt of a complaint, a preliminary inquiry is initiated on the direction of the Governor or Chancellor of the university. If the allegations are found to be true in the preliminary inquiry, a formal inquiry committee may be formed. The inquiry committee submits its report to the Chancellor (Governor). If the Vice Chancellor is found guilty, the committee may recommend dismissal or suspension.
