Rajasthan: A new step has been taken regarding women’s safety in Rajasthan. A security app has been made available by the police, with the help of which Kalika police will immediately pounce on girls and women in schools, colleges, markets or crowded places if they are harassed by miscreants and will send the miscreants to jail along with providing them immediate security.
For the safety of sisters and daughters, Rajasthan Police has launched Rajcop Citizen App equipped with various help applications, through which the students and women studying will be safe. Under this, Kalika Patrolling Police Unit has been operated in Bhilwara district, which is giving information to women and girl students about downloading the app and its utility.
Salma Banu and Meena Kumari of Kalika Patrolling Unit gave information about this app to the girl students studying in Government Secondary School, Government Girls College and Rupi Devi Girls College operating at Mandal Police Station Headquarters. At the same time, along with Principal Dr. Jyoti Verma, 350 girl students were made to download the app on the spot.
Principal Dr. Jyoti Verma said that more than 1200 students study in Roopi Devi Kanya Mahavidyalaya, all the students were asked to download the app and other women students in their neighbourhood and relatives were also requested to download the app.
Facility started at 12 police stations of the district
Under the scheme started by the state government, Kalika Patrolling Unit has started patrolling in 12 police station areas of the district along with the city. SP Dharmendra Singh flagged off the unit. Kalika Patrolling Unit will patrol 12 police stations of the district including Kotwali, Pratapnagar, Bhimganj, Subhashnagar, Mandal, Mandalgarh, Gulabpura, Gangapur, Asind, Bijolia, Shahpura and Jahazpur.
4 women police constables have been appointed in every Kalika unit, for whose duty two shifts have been fixed. They will be monitored by Abhay Command Center and Police Control Room. Kalika Patrolling Unit has also launched an awareness campaign in the city of Bhilwara to provide immediate help and register complaints to common people and women through Rajcop Citizen App developed by Rajasthan Police.
This is how the app works
Rajcop Citizen App available on Google Play Store is a mobile app of Rajasthan Police, through which common people can register complaints online from police verification. Salma Banu and Meena Kumari of Kalika Patrolling Unit said that along with the complaints received on this app, we are reaching the spot as soon as we get updates from the control room, work is also being done on the new feature of this app.
Along with the help message, a call comes immediately on the location
After downloading the Rajcop app, you can login with your mobile number. This app works on the basis of GPS location. In this, after login, in case of any problem, women and girls click on the ‘Need Help’ feature. In this too, emergency options have been given in different categories. Such as call back, not feeling safe, police help, other, sexual harassment, violence. You can click on whichever emergency is there. After this, you can type the message in the message box and send it.
If you want, you can also record the photo or audio of the incident and send it. As soon as you click on submit, the relevant message goes to the State Control Room team. The complaint popup appears on the computer screen there. The policeman on duty opens it and checks it. They get the information about the complainant’s location, nearest police station and mobile number.
The policeman immediately calls the complainant and takes the information. This message is circulated to the concerned police station to provide immediate help. In case of emergency, a police vehicle is dispatched immediately. Even if the complainant cannot be contacted due to network issue or any other reason, a police vehicle is dispatched to that place based on the location.
The same process is followed when you click on other non-emergency features in the app and send a message. But, after talking on the phone, first of all the complaint is registered on CCTNS after listening to the problem. After this, its report is sent to the concerned police station. After this, its follow-up is done whether the complaint has been resolved or not.
Police becomes active for help within 2 to 5 minutes
ASI Sunita Sharma, who is leading the team of State Control Room, said that the police becomes active and reaches for help within 2 to 5 minutes. After the complaint is resolved, either the complainant himself can close the complaint through the app or it can also be closed from the control room.
From helpline to complaint, you can register
People can easily reach the police through the app. They do not need to go to the police station for every work or problem. Police is reaching to help them with a message. There are many other options on this app along with women help.
You can also send complaint through video voice message
The feature of video and voice has also been added to this app. Right now you can send a photo or audio along with the complaint message. But in future, the incident happening with the complainant can be videotaped and sent directly to the State Control Room through the app. This will also work as evidence. To create awareness about this app, a team of women police personnel is visiting colleges and coaching institutes and giving information to the girl students.
