The holy month of Ramadan has started from Monday in most parts of the Gulf countries. This time Ramadan has come with Israel’s bombings and starvation in Gaza, which is going through a terrible period of war. While Muslim countries all over the world are shining with the lights of Ramadan, there is darkness in Gaza this year. Almost all the mosques in Gaza have become piles of debris after Israel’s bombing, the people of Gaza do not even have proper food to have Iftar.
Taraweeh prayers (special prayers offered around 8-9 pm) were offered in many parts of Gaza after the sighting of the Ramjaam moon on Sunday evening. In the pictures, people of Gaza are seen reciting Taraweeh on the debris of the broken mosque. Old, young and children are all included among those offering Namaz. Apart from this, the mosque destroyed by bombing can be clearly seen in the video.
Gazans are also decorating the pile of debris
Muslims often decorate their homes during Ramadan. But people in Gaza have no homes left, the people of Gaza are forced to spend their Ramadan in tents. Palestinians have illuminated their tents with lamps and lights; children can be seen celebrating Ramadan in pictures of Gazans on social media.
The war affected people in Gaza are also facing the crisis of food and drink. Food items are being delivered to people through parachutes from the sky. Many such pictures have surfaced in which people are seen running after the help coming from parachutes. Recently, some people got injured while trying to get food and there were reports of some deaths too.
Ceasefire efforts failed
The effort of the UN and the countries engaged in mediation was to achieve a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel before the month of Ramadan. But Hamas backed out from this deal saying that apart from a complete ceasefire, we will not agree to a temporary ceasefire. At least 31,045 Palestinians have been killed and 72,654 injured since the beginning of the war in Gaza. In the October 7 attacks by Hamas, about 1200 Israeli civilians were killed and about 200 people were taken prisoner.
