Ravi Shankar Prasad: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharti for her statement about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Misa had said that if the National Democratic Alliance is voted out of power at the Centre, Prime Minister Modi will be ‘in jail’.
Misa was heard making such comments in a video that surfaced on social media.
Ravi Shankar Prasad cautioned Misa Bharti against making such ‘irresponsible and shameful’ comments and reminded her of the corruption cases in which she and her family members are accused.
Ravi Shankar Prasad took a dig
Ravi Shankar Prasad said that such statements are highly condemnable. The post of Prime Minister is very respectable. Nothing is hidden from the country. Her (Bharti’s) father was convicted in the fodder scam. His family is deeply immersed in corruption. They should stop daydreaming. Everything will become clear on June 4 when the results of Lok Sabha elections will be declared and RJD will have to face a shameful defeat.
The former Union Minister said that I am still the lawyer in the CBI investigation against Lalu Prasad in the fodder scam… He (Bharti) himself, his mother and his brother are accused in the land-for-job scam. He (RJD leader) has given such a statement fearing the impending election results.
Misa Bharti has given this statement
During a recent public meeting in Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency, Bharti attacked the central government and said that if the alliance of opposition parties ‘India’ comes to power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arrested. Bharti is contesting as RJD candidate from Patliputra seat.
In the video, Bharti was heard saying, ‘We are talking about farmers and the implementation of MSP (minimum support price) and the Prime Minister sees appeasement in this. Whenever he addresses rallies in Bihar, he accuses our family of corruption. If the people of this country give a chance to the ‘India’ alliance (to form the government), then everyone from Prime Minister Modi to many BJP leaders will be behind bars.
