The delegation included senior Indonesian ministers. The Indonesian President is on his first state visit to India. He is the chief guest of India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations.

During this, both the countries have agreed to work jointly to accelerate the pace of bilateral relations and in the areas of defence manufacturing and supply chain.
Actually, Subianto is on a three-day visit to India. He is the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations to be held on Kartavya Path on Sunday. In his statement to the media after this conversation, PM Modi has described Indonesia as an important partner of India in the Indo-Pacific region along with the ASEAN group of 10 countries and said that both the countries are committed to a rule-based system in this region.

Amid growing global concerns over China’s growing military power in the Indo-Pacific region, PM Modi said, ‘We agree that freedom of navigation should be ensured in accordance with international law.’ PM Modi said that the agreement between India and Indonesia in the field of maritime security will further strengthen cooperation in crime prevention, search and rescue and capacity building.
