Here he spoke about the issue of conversion going on in the country. He said that religion can lead everyone to happiness, we should not convert due to greed or fear.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Saturday that greed and temptation may be faced in everyday life and these things can take people away from their religion, but only religion can lead everyone to happiness.
Participating in the silver jubilee celebrations of Shri Bhav Bhaveshwar Mahadev Temple at Sadgurudham in Barumal of Valsad district, Bhagwat said that people should not change their religion under any circumstances under the influence of greed or fear.
We do not want to fight – Sangh chief
The Sangh chief said that we know how to unite and want to unite. We do not want to fight, but we have to protect ourselves because even today there are forces that want us to change (convert religion). He said but when there are no such forces in our daily lives, even then incidents of greed and temptation come to the fore.
Don’t get caught in selfishness and greed – Mohan Bhagwat
Bhagwat said that there was no one to convert religion at the time of Mahabharata, but what Duryodhana did in greed to usurp the kingdom of Pandavas was adharma. He said that religious conduct should be done regularly. We should not work under the influence of attachment and infatuation, nor should we get caught in selfishness. It should not happen that greed or fear turns us away from our faith. That is why such centers have been established here.
Bhagwat was referring to Sadgurudham, which conducts social activities in remote tribal areas for the upliftment of tribals. He said that when such centers were not operating in these areas, ascetics used to go from village to village and tell satsang to the people and keep them firm on the path of religion. He said that later when the population increased, these centers were established, where people come and take advantage of religion.
