S. Jaishankar’s statement on the arrest of 3 Indians on charges of Nijjar’s murder, said- “It is their political compulsion to accuse India”

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has once again clarified that whatever is happening in Canada over the murder of pro-Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar is due to their internal politics. This murder has nothing to do with India.

Jaishankar made this comment on a question asked about criticism of India by Justin Trudeau. Talking to reporters, he said, a section of Khalistan supporters is using Canada’s democracy to create a lobby there. It has become a vote bank. The ruling party in Canada does not have a majority in Parliament and some parties are dependent on pro-Khalistan leaders. He said, we have explained to them many times that they should not give visa, legality or political space to such people who are also creating problems for India-Canada relations. But Canada did nothing.

Map on note: Nepal’s decision is unilateral

On Nepal’s decision to print a new map with Indian territories on the Rs 100 note, Jaishankar said, “This decision of Kathmandu is unilateral. Talks are going on between the two countries on the border. We have seen the report related to the map. Nepal cannot change the status quo.”

Odisha needs an energetic and committed government

Jaishankar said that Odisha needs an energetic and committed government that works as a partner with the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. He alleged that the state, rich in natural and human resources, is lagging behind in development. The Foreign Minister said, “Odisha has not developed as much as it has resources. Manufacturing has not developed much in the state. Therefore, it needs an energetic and committed government that can work as a partner of the Modi government at the Centre.”
