ASI ordered 400 colourful lights from Delhi for the decoration of the mosque and installed them on the mosque, due to which the Jama Masjid is shining with the light of colourful lights.
At the same time, a lot of work has been done on the mosque, but it is not yet complete. Although the court had given time till today to ASI, but the head of Jama Masjid Committee, Zafar Ali Advocate, said that some work is still left and it was expected to be done by Wednesday evening. But due to shortage of labourers, the work is left and will be completed in a day or two.
ASI and the mosque committee are getting the work done with mutual consent. More time will be sought from the court, there is no problem anywhere. We are thanking God that the painting and decoration work of our mosque has been done in the month of Ramzan.
Painting work is going on on the orders of the High Court
The head of the Jama Masjid Committee said that this painting work is going on on the orders of the Allahabad High Court and is being monitored by the ASI. Today, about 12-13 workers are doing the painting work. The work will be completed in the next two days. There was a light golden color strip on the platform of Shahi Jama Masjid, which the ASI people said they wanted to make completely white, so we agreed. We did not want any color dispute, all the work has been done very well.

Zafar Ali said that due to the preparations for Holi holidays and Friday prayers, the painting work started a little late. Therefore, we hope that the court will be requested to extend the time by two days. This work will be completed in the next two days. The court had ordered ASI to paint and decorate the Jama Masjid on the appeal of the Masjid Committee.

The ongoing works including painting and decoration are being done under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The officials are closely monitoring the progress of the work to ensure compliance with the court’s instructions. The Jama Masjid Committee is elated with the painting and lighting done at Shahi Jama Masjid for Ramzan and Eid. The committee has distanced itself from the colour controversy and has expressed happiness over the lighting and painting.
