Srinagar: Security forces on Wednesday recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in the forest of Keran sector near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists had hidden these weapons and ammunition at a depth of 10 feet. It is being told that the Indian Army carried out this operation after the Special Election Observer and Intelligence Agency gave information about it. It is believed that these weapons were hidden by the masters of the terrorists so that the assembly elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir could be disrupted at the behest of Pakistan and fear could be spread in the area with the help of terrorists.

The Srinagar-based Indian Army’s Chinar Corps said in a post released on the social media platform ‘X’ that based on specific intelligence, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police had conducted a joint operation in the Keran sector of Kupwara. It said that during the search of the area, a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosive material was recovered, including AK 47 cartridges, grenades, material used in making IEDs and other items. The army said that this recovery is important in view of the current security situation and upcoming events and it is a big achievement for the security forces.
Bodies of 2 terrorists were found on Wednesday.
