Shahjahanpur: A female police officer died after alighting from a moving train at the railway station. This train did not stop at Shahjahanpur station.

Shahjahanpur: A woman police officer died on the spot after falling while alighting from a moving train at Shahjahanpur railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday night. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena said on Sunday that Kiran Katiyar (27), a woman police officer posted at Chowk Kotwali, had gone to Moradabad on Saturday to submit a sample for viscera examination.

Due to some deficiency in the documents, the sample could not be submitted for examination. He said that the woman constable was returning from Moradabad to Shahjahanpur by Amritsar-Superfast train, but this train did not stop at Shahjahanpur station.

Trying to alight from a moving train at Roza station

He said that the woman constable tried to alight from a moving train at Roza station and she fell between the train and the platform and got injured. Meena said that Katiyar was immediately taken to the medical college in an injured condition where doctors declared her dead.

The constable who lost her life was originally a resident of Bilhaur village in Kanpur district. Police said that the post-mortem of the body has been done.
