A shocking incident has come to light in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar (West) area. A 65-year-old woman, Shahnaz Anis Kazi, was found dead in her flat. Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene and began investigating the case, treating it as a homicide. Initial investigations suggest the murder stemmed from a property dispute. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Deep Injury Marks on the Head
The incident came to light when the deceased woman’s sister attempted to contact her several times, but her phone was not answered. Her niece then obtained a key from a woman in the same building and had the flat checked. Upon opening the door, Shahnaz Kazi was found lying on the floor, covered in blood. She had deep injuries on her head, indicating that she had been murdered with a heavy object.
Woman Lived Alone
Shahnaz had been living alone in the flat for several years. Her husband, Anis Kazi, died in 2018. Anis’s first wife was Shahnaz and his second wife was Ayesha. Ayesha had four children from her previous marriage, while Anis had three. After her husband’s death, Shahnaz was left alone, and during this time, property disputes arose among family members.
Suspicion of Murder Due to Property Dispute
Police suspect a property dispute may be the root of the murder. Information has also emerged about strained relations between Shahnaz and some family members. All aspects of the case are being investigated, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is also being examined. The body has been sent to Mumbai’s Rajawadi Hospital for a post-mortem. Police have registered a murder case against unknown suspects and are interrogating the relevant individuals. No one has been detained yet.
