Shimla: There was a stir due to cloudburst in Darshal area of Rampur in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh at 10:15 pm on Wednesday night. This caused a sudden flood in Nogli drain flowing in the middle of Taklech market. The fast flow of water increased towards the lower areas, due to which there was chaos and people were taken to safe places.
People were taken to safe places
Due to cloudburst, the fast flow of water increased towards the settlement of the lower area. However, the administration showed promptness and took the people to safe places. Till the time of writing the news, no loss of life or property was reported.
At the same time, in Jakhu area of Shimla, a tree and debris fell on the road due to heavy rain, due to which the road was blocked for a few hours. As soon as the information was received, the district administration reached the spot and got the road cleared.
Cloudburst also occurred in Raldang Khad
National Highway-5 has been blocked due to flash floods caused by cloudburst near Skibba village in Kinnaur district. The cloudburst incident occurred in Raldang Khad near the village in Pooh block of the district, causing the water level of the ravine to rise. As a result of the flash floods, a large amount of mud and stones accumulated on at least 150 meters of the road, stopping vehicular traffic on it. Debris and large stones fell on the road, stopping vehicular traffic on it. However, no casualties have been reported in this incident.
Heavy rain alert in these districts on August 8
According to the information, heavy rains have occurred in many districts including Shimla. Due to dense clouds, visibility in the hill town also decreased. Meteorologist Sandeep Kumar Sharma said that a heavy rain alert has been issued in Sirmaur district on August 7. The weather will become strong again from August 8. Heavy rain is expected in parts of Una, Chamba, Kangra, Sirmaur and Solan on August 8 and 9. Till August 5, the state has recorded 38 per cent more rainfall than normal.
