The court’s decision has come in the dispute over the construction of Sanjauli Mosque in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The court has ordered the demolition of three floors of the mosque while giving the verdict. The court has asked to demolish the third, fourth and fifth floors. There was a dispute over the illegal construction of the mosque for a long time, but now the court has put a full stop to all the disputes by giving the verdict. The court has given this decision after the application filed by the mosque committee.
Regarding the illegal construction of Sanjauli Mosque, the court has ruled that within the next two months, the three floors of the mosque built illegally will have to be demolished. Also, the mosque committee will bear all the expenses incurred in this work. The court has ordered the work of demolishing the three floors of the mosque to be done under the supervision of the mosque head. The construction work of Sanjauli Mosque started in the year 2009. By the year 2010, a dispute had started over the construction of the mosque.
Five-storey mosque building built in 2018
Two years after the controversy increased, i.e. in 2012, the Waqf Board gave permission to build a mosque. After which in 2013, a person gave a proposed map to the corporation to build a one-storey building on behalf of the mosque, but by 2018 the mosque committee had built a five-storey building without any valid approval. Since then, the controversy regarding this mosque had increased a lot. On this entire controversy, people say that this mosque was built illegally. Which should be demolished as soon as possible.
Waqf Board considered 2 floors illegal
Recently, the leaders of the Hindu organization also registered their strong protest in this matter. They also demanded that all the mosques built across the state should be investigated. The court has given the decision to demolish the illegal floor of the mosque after an application filed by the mosque committee. In the application, the mosque committee itself had proposed to demolish the illegal construction of the mosque. On the Sanjauli Mosque dispute, Shimla Waqf Board has also admitted that two floors of Sanjauli Mosque are illegal.
