Shimla: The petition of All Himachal Muslim Welfare Organization in the Sanjauli Masjid case has been rejected by the Shimla District Court. The court has upheld the decision of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner’s court. According to this, the work of removing the illegal part from Sanjauli Masjid will continue. The Muslim Welfare Organization had challenged the decision of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner’s court in the district court.
The Municipal Corporation Commissioner’s court had given this order
Earlier, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner’s court had ordered the removal of the three floors above the mosque within two months on the basis of the affidavit of the Sanjauli Masjid Committee. The Muslim Welfare Organization had approached the District Court against this decision. At the same time, the case regarding Sanjauli Masjid is pending in the Municipal Corporation Commissioner’s court and the next hearing is to be held on December 6.
The Muslim side can challenge the order in the High Court
The lawyer of the petitioner All Himachal Muslim Welfare Organization, Vishwa Bhushan, said that the court has rejected his petition. On the question of challenging this matter in the High Court, Vishwa Bhushan said that he will decide on it after reading the order. Vishwa Bhushan told that he had challenged in the court the eligibility of Sanjauli Masjid Committee and the committee’s president Mohammad Latif to give affidavit in the court.
Sanjauli Masjid Committee President gave this information
Sanjauli Masjid Committee President Mohammad Latif said that the court has rejected the petition of Muslim Welfare Organization. Now the decision of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner regarding Sanjauli Masjid will remain intact. Latif said that the work of removing the roof and a temple above the mosque has been done. Also, due to non-availability of laborers, the work of removing the illegal part of the mosque will not be done till March.
At the same time, Jagatpal, the lawyer of the local residents, has welcomed the decision of the district court. He said that in this entire matter, the High Court has ordered that this matter should be settled as soon as possible. In such a situation, he has expressed hope that the final decision of the Municipal Corporation will come on the matter.
