Bikram Singh Majithia Arrested: Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia was arrested on Wednesday (June 25) in the action against drugs in Punjab. Meanwhile, investigations conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing an FIR registered in Police Station Punjab State Crime and the Vigilance Bureau reveal massive laundering of drug money facilitated by Bikram Singh Majithia.

Extra deposit of Rs 236 crore

Apart from this, channelization of Rs 141 crore through suspicious foreign entities of Akali leader Majithia, extra deposit of Rs 236 crore without explanation in the financial statement of the company and acquisition of movable or immovable property by Bikram Singh Majithia without any legitimate income source are included.

Raid on Majithia’s Amritsar residence

Let us tell you that the vigilance team raided Bikram Majithia’s Amritsar residence on Wednesday (June 25) and after that he was arrested. Akali Dal leader Majithia also shared a video of the raid at his house on the social media platform X, in which there is an argument between him and the vigilance officials.

He shared the video and wrote, “I had told you long ago that when the Bhagwant Mann government did not find anything in the false drug case against me, now it is preparing to register a new false case against me. Today a team led by the SSP of Vigilance has raided my place.”

Your government will not be able to suppress my voice – Majithia

He further said, “Bhagwant Mann, understand this, no matter how many notices you issue, neither will I be afraid nor will your government be able to suppress my voice. I have always spoken on the issues of Punjab and will continue to do so.” It is worth noting that Bikram Singh Majithia has been a cabinet minister in the Punjab government. He won the Punjab Assembly elections from Majitha constituency in 2007 and won again in 2012 and 2017. He had to face defeat in the 2022 elections.
