Shiv Sena Legislative Council Member (MLC) Manisha Kayande has said that whenever there is a talk about the Chief Minister of Maharashtra or the name of the CM is discussed, then only one name comes to the mind of the people and that name is Eknath Shinde. Even though Eknath Shinde is currently the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, still people remember his name. His image is such among the people, due to which only his name comes first in the mind.
While addressing a program on Saturday, Manisha Kayande said, ‘The victory of the Mahayuti government (Shiv Sena-Shinde faction, BJP, Ajit Pawar’s NCP) in the 2024 assembly elections is due to only two reasons. One is the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana and the second is the leadership of Eknath Shinde.’ Under the Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana, eligible women are given assistance of Rs 1,500 every month. This scheme has been the main public welfare scheme of the Shinde government.
‘Shinde has become a national level leader’
There are a total of 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, out of which 230 seats were won by the Shiv Sena-Shinde faction, BJP, Ajit Pawar’s NCP Mahayuti alliance. After this, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis, who was Shinde’s deputy CM, became the Chief Minister of the state. Praising Shinde’s personality, Kayande said that he has become a national level leader, now he is not limited to Maharashtra only. Praising Shinde’s way of working, he said that he does not just speak but also works.
‘Shinde is the Chief Minister for Shiv Sena’
He further said, ‘Even though he is the Deputy Chief Minister today, Shinde is the Chief Minister for Shiv Sena. The reason behind many people joining Shiv Sena is the trust in Shinde’s leadership.’
In 2022, Shinde revolted within the Shiv Sena, which led to the fall of Uddhav Thackeray’s Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Later, the Election Commission gave the Shiv Sena name and symbol to the Shinde faction and the Uddhav faction came to be known as Shiv Sena (UBT).
