On the incident of slapping the canteen staff accusing them of bad food, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad said, “I will not apologize. Whatever the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister said is their duty. I respect their words, but they also said that the hotel should be investigated. I have no regrets. I was about to consume poison. Others cannot understand this, so I have no regrets for my actions.”
What did CM Fadnavis say?
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had given a statement in the Legislative Council regarding the incident of Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad assaulting a canteen worker. He condemned the incident of assault and said that such behavior is unacceptable and not respectable for anyone. CM Fadnavis said that Gaikwad’s actions as an MLA have tarnished the reputation of all MLAs. CM Fadnavis had appealed to the Chairman of the Legislative Council and the Speaker of the Assembly to take cognizance of the matter and take a decision to take action against the MLA.
