Shiv Sena (UBT)’s newspaper advertisement and social media post on Babri demolition has led to a rift in the All India Alliance in Maharashtra.
Samajwadi Party has announced on Saturday that it is separating from MVA in Maharashtra. It also said that there is no difference between Shiv Sena (UBT) and BJP.
In fact, Shiv Sena had congratulated those who demolished Babri Masjid by giving advertisement in the newspaper. Along with this, Uddhav Thackeray’s close aide Milind Narvekar had also posted about it on X.
Samajwadi Party chief in Maharashtra Abu Azmi said about this – ‘Shiv Sena (UBT) congratulated those who demolished Babri Masjid by giving advertisement in the newspaper. Uddhav’s close aide posted on X and praised the demolition of the mosque. We are separating from MVA. I am talking to Samajwadi chief Akhilesh Yadav about this.’
Samajwadi Party is breaking away from the alliance over this social media post of Shiv Sena (UBT) secretary Milind Narvekar.
Abu Azmi said- Why should we stay in alliance with MVA?
In the social media post, Milind Narvekar posted a picture of the demolition of Babri Masjid along with a quote by Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, in which he said- I am proud of those who did this. In this post, pictures of Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray and Milind Narvekar himself were also posted.
Abu Azmi said about this post that if someone in MVA can talk like this, then what is the difference between them and BJP? Why should we stay in alliance with them?
Azmi said in the X post that SP will go alone, but we cannot tolerate being a part of the communal ideology of Shiv Sena UBT. Samajwadi Party was, is and will always be against communalism.
Abu Azmi said- Constitution was not followed in demolition of Babri Masjid
On 6 December, on Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Diwas, Abu Azmi had said- ‘We consider ourselves very lucky that we follow the Constitution made by Babasaheb. However, the Constitution was not followed in the case of Babri Masjid. The Supreme Court said in its decision that the majority wants a temple to be built at the place of Babri Masjid. The majority wants, not the Constitution. If the decision is taken by the majority, then we will always be in the minority. The decision will always be against us. And why was Babri Masjid demolished on 6 December? To show that we do not follow the Constitution.’
