Bratislava: Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has been discharged from the hospital. He was seriously injured in an attack during an event a few days ago. Miriam Lapušnikova, director of the Banska Bystrica city hospital, said on Friday that Prime Minister Fico has been taken to his home after being discharged from the hospital. Fico will now be treated at his home. He lives in the capital Bratislava. Lapušnikova described Fico as “a disciplined patient” in a statement and wished him a speedy recovery.
Fico was attacked
Fico (59) was attacked and shot in the stomach while greeting supporters after a government event on May 15 in the Slovakian city of Handlova. The suspect was immediately arrested. Fico was undergoing treatment in the hospital after being seriously injured in the attack.
Surgery done in hospital
While greeting supporters after the program, Fico went to the people gathered near the barricades and moved forward to shake hands, then a person came forward, extended his hand and fired five rounds of bullets. Fico, who was seriously injured in this attack, underwent surgery for five hours in the hospital.
Politicians may be assassinated
Robert Fico had said on Facebook last month that he believes that politicians may be assassinated due to increasing tension in the country. He blamed the media for increasing tension in the country with a population of 54 lakh.
