Seoul: South Korea’s ousted President Yoon Suk Yeol has vacated his official residence. He was deposed through impeachment in a case. He is on bail from the court. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s supporters became very emotional when he left his official residence in Seoul on Friday. Along with the President, his 11 dogs and cats also had to leave the house.
The President has taken this step a week after the Constitutional Court removed him from office due to his decision to impose martial law in December. Yoon, who was facing criminal trial on charges of rebellion, was released from custody in March after a Seoul court canceled his arrest. Yoon and his wife Kim Kion have moved to their private apartment in southern Seoul with their 11 pet dogs and cats.
Greeted supporters by waving hand
As soon as Yoon’s black van reached the gate of the presidential complex, he got out of the van, smiled and waved to his supporters, shook hands with some and hugged some, then got back in the car and left from there. Even after reaching his private residence, Yoon did not disappoint his supporters present there and got off the vehicle a little distance away and slowly moved forward through the crowd of supporters, shaking hands with them. Yoon’s wife was also walking behind him. Dozens of Yoon’s supporters and critics gathered on the nearby streets in the presence of a heavy police force, holding placards in their hands. Supporters had written on some placards, “Your Excellency Yoon, we will move forward with your spirit”, while the placards in the hands of opponents read, “Give death penalty to Yoon Suk Yeol!”
