Bus Fell Into Kosi River: A major accident took place on Thursday (September 26) evening at Kosi Barrage in Saptari, Nepal, adjacent to Supaul district, when a bus full of passengers went out of control and broke the railing of the barrage and fell into the river. This incident happened between gate number 34-35 of Kosi Barrage. From here the bus fell directly into the river. The bus was going from Viratnagar to Gay Ghat in Udaipur, and its number was 1B 4601. Saptari Chief District Officer Mekh Bahadur Magrati has confirmed the incident.
20 passengers were evacuated safely
Bipin Regmi, head of District Police Office Sunsari, said that so far 20 passengers have been safely evacuated from the bus and sent to the nearest hospital. Rescue work is going on fast and efforts are being made to remove the bus from the river. According to police and local officials, it is not yet clear how many passengers were in the bus.
People told that at the time of the incident, gate number 36 of the barrage was closed, where this accident happened. Due to this, the people in the bus did not have to face the strong current of the river. The administration first took out the people in the bus through the window and then the bus was also taken out through a crane. Saptari Chief District Officer Mekh Bahadur Magrati has confirmed that so far 20 people have been rescued safely and they have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

After questioning other passengers present at the spot and the driver, it has been found that there were only 20 passengers in the bus. The condition of all the passengers is said to be stable, although some have suffered minor injuries. The local police and administration are engaged in the rescue operation and the situation is being closely monitored.
