Jerusalem: Israel’s Foreign Minister said on Monday that Israeli forces have attacked and destroyed suspected chemical weapons sites and long-range rockets in Syria so that they do not fall into the hands of enemies. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said, “Our only interest is the security of Israel and its citizens.”
‘Weapons should not fall into the hands of terrorists’
The Foreign Minister said that Israeli forces attacked and destroyed these weapons so that they do not fall into the hands of terrorists. Saar said this after Syrian rebels reached Damascus over the weekend and overthrew the government of President Bashar Assad after nearly 14 years of civil war.
America also dropped bombs
America has also carried out air strikes on Islamic State bases in Syria. The US Central Command said that its security forces have carried out dozens of air strikes on Islamic State bases in central Syria. The purpose of these air strikes is to prevent the re-emergence of Islamic State in the war-torn country.
