Chennai: While Chief Minister MK Stalin has reshuffled his cabinet in Tamil Nadu, three ministers took oath at the Raj Bhavan today. Among them, DMK leader Senthil Balaji has once again got entry in the Stalin cabinet. Senthil Balaji spent 15 months in jail in a money laundering case before getting bail from the Supreme Court. Along with Senthil Balaji, Govi Chezhiyan, SM Nassar and KS Masthan took oath as ministers.
Udhayanidhi is the third generation leader of the Karunanidhi family
This cabinet reshuffle is also important because with this, MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin has been made the Deputy Chief Minister. He is the third generation leader in his family to get an important role in the Tamil Nadu government after his grandfather and DMK veteran leader M Karunanidhi and his father MK Stalin. The 46-year-old leader did not take oath in today’s program as he was a minister before being promoted to the number 2 position in the state government.
Governor approves departments allotted to new ministers
On the recommendation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Governor RN Ravi has approved the departments allotted to newly appointed ministers V Senthil Balaji, Dr Govi Chezhiyan, R Rajendran and SM Nasar.
