New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested accused Taufiq in Neha murder case in Jyoti Nagar area of North East district. The accused was absconding since the incident and police teams have arrested him from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, Taufiq was arrested last night from Tanda in Rampur.
Accused of throwing Neha from the fifth floor wearing a burqa
Taufiq is accused of throwing a girl named Neha from the fifth floor on Monday morning. Neha considered Taufiq as her brother and allegedly tied Rakhi on Rakshabandhan. Seriously injured Neha was admitted to GTB Hospital but despite efforts, she died.
According to Neha’s father, Taufiq entered their house wearing a burqa. When he was opposed, he allegedly pushed Neha’s father and went to the terrace, where Neha was checking the water tank. Allegedly, an argument broke out between the two, following which Taufiq pushed Neha off the roof.

The family told the police that Taufiq knew them for about three years and behaved like a brother. Every Rakshabandhan, Neha and her sisters would tie rakhis to him and considered him family. However, things turned worse in recent months when Taufiq started pressuring Neha for marriage. Neha had rejected Taufiq’s marriage proposal.
Taufiq was harassing Neha
After this, Neha had distanced herself from Taufiq, but he allegedly continued to harass her. Her sister revealed that for the past one month, Taufiq was constantly pressuring Neha for marriage and had also issued threats. The police was told that a girl named Neha was thrown down from the 5th floor of the roof by a boy named Taufiq. After this, the injured Neha was hurriedly admitted to the nearby GTB Nagar Hospital, where she died. The girl’s father alleges that Taufiq entered their house wearing a burqa. He also pushed the girl’s father. On this incident, the girl’s father says that Neha used to tie Rakhi to Taufiq. His family has known Taufiq for about 3 years.
