Thane: A 28-year-old man from Jogeshwari area of ​​Mumbai in Maharashtra has been arrested for raping a young woman several times and forcing her to have an abortion. A Thane police official gave this information on Sunday.

The Rabodi police station official said that the accused has been identified as Riyasat Ilyas Qureshi and he is a tailor. He said that the accused befriended the 24-year-old victim and raped her several times between February 2022 and January this year by promising marriage.

The official said, ‘The accused refused to marry the woman, after which she lodged a complaint.’
